Lost in Space presents an authentic photo archive featuring dogs instrumentalised by the soviets as unwitting cosmonauts in the race to colonise space. These photos were stolen in 1991 as the soviet union collapsed, their provenance signified by archival stamps on their verso sides. Recovered by the artist via eBay and shown in the book with their imperfections intact, the images question our relationship with other-than-humans and with our collective nostalgised past.
