In ‘Our Other Room’, Moseid confronts the familiar, and examines our closest relationships. Through disconcerting dramatic narratives, he explores the home as an arena for the dichotomies of human behaviour.
The home is a protective sphere in which one is shielded from the outside world; guarded from the scrutiny of the public’s gaze. At the same time, the walls of the home separate and insulate, and hide the power dynamics within.
Moseid's motifs seek to exploit the uncertainty of control within the home, offering a glimpse into undefined and often disturbing vignettes, that can be read a multitude of ways. His practice lies in the intersection between staged photography and documentary traditions. Text by Guy Archard.
